Dimensions Variable (DV) is a nonprofit led by artists committed to the education, presentation, and support of contemporary art in Miami. Through a supportive community, DV provides studios, curates exhibitions, produces external projects, publishes content, hosts discussions, develops education, and organizes events that engage the community and support challenging and experimental art practices.

Trbovlje is a small post-industrial town of 16,000 people. It used to be a very important coal mining center from which a rich culture has emerged (most notably Laibach group). After the collapse of Yugoslavia and the industry, the closure of the mine, the town fell into economic decline and a kind of depression. Trbovlje new media setting (TNM) initiative took place in Delavski dom Trbovlje (a public cultural institution) with the idea of changing the identity of the town inhabitants from the ‘we used to be miners’ into a new, more prosperous ‘we are a town, where robots help children cross the street’. Humanisation of technology. Speculum Artium, an annual new media culture festival was born in 2009 and it grew into one of the most prominent festivals in the Central Europe. During these years we have hosted many prominent and aspiring artists like Stelarc, Hiroshi Ishiguro, Victoria Vesna, Laibach, Milica Zec, and many others. Every year we also cooperate with art academies and schools from around Europe. Last year Delavski dom also opened an art research lab and is a leader of Network of Art and Culture Research Centers (MCRUK) which further enables the festival and wider community

The REAKTOR is a privately run transdisciplinary art institution based in Vienna that opened in February 2018 on the premises of what was once the Grand Etablissement Gschwandner. Here, on a total surface area of 1,200 m2, various forms of artistic expression are brought together and made accessible to the public. The focus is on film, space-defining art and music theatre, new music, jazz and experimental interpretations of contemporary music. The defining themes of the programming are situated on the event horizon of the existence of the individual and society, expressed through art in ways that are as unusual as they are transnational. As a result, audiences are treated to a modern-day arts salon of a highly entertaining kind. The REAKTOR is a showcase, workshop, initiator, principal, and producer, all rolled into one. The highest of artistic aspirations and, consequently, critical scrutiny, exploration, enjoyment and aesthetics complement one another at the REAKTOR. Audiences are invited to consider a change of perspective through an entertaining mix of autonomous positions, sensory experiences, and surprising crossovers. Both the programming and the presentation are designed to enable audiences to gain their own personal and individual insights into the featured works.

Studio Next is an upcoming Artist-run art space in North Kolkata, the cultural capital of India, Surrounded by the Ganges River, the East Kolkata Wetlands, the countryside, nearby colonial remains of Dum Dum and Barrackpore Cantonment , the Kolkata Airport, Old Kolkata and the New Town. Kolkata is known as the cultural capital of India. Studio Next is a non-profit art organization founded by artists and connoisseurs to promote alternative contemporary art practice and a platform of alternative art education and cross cultural understanding. It is an artist run organization with Studio, exhibition space, projection room, local artisan accesses that supports the open exchange of ideas. This multi-dimensional cultural space is a newest addition to the location it is situated. We believe that when peoples from different parts of the world works together, they gain insights that bridge cultural divides and the sharing of ideas, skills and experiences inspires actions and enables collaboration for good. Petrohradská kolektiv is an artist-run initiative with its own cultural production and original dramaturgy. It’s a meeting point of experiments and contemporary arts founded in 2015. The original idea behind Petrohradská kolektiv was to make a community space for creativity and art practice, where there’s a place for both efficient working and pleasant relaxing, where you can focus on your own projects and then take a break without the necessity of leaving the building. Artists working within Petrohradská kolektiv get space, freedom and attention. Our activities are aimed at exhibitions, educational practice, live art and creative cooperations with Czech and foreign artists. Petrohradská kolektiv wants to contribute to the meaning of “art” within society by supporting, presenting and producing art projects. The basic pillars of the initiative are Artist in Residence program, Jedna Dva Tři Gallery, the Live Arts program consisting of music and performative program. In the beginning of 2019 the allied Kafe Petrohradská café situated in our building, opened. A new club cinema Kino Petrohradská will open in 2021. Petrohradská kolektiv’s building also offers more than 30 studios rented by artists based in Prague. Over the years, more than 200 artists worked in the rented studios.

  SUPERORDINARY IS AN EPHEMERAL ART SPACE LOCATED IN THE BRISBANE CBD. WE PROVIDE SPACE FOR ARTISTS TO CREATE WORK, SHOW WORK AND COLLABORATE BY RECLAIMING UNUSED URBAN SPACES. Superordinary facilitates partnerships with property owners to utilise otherwise unused urban spaces in central Brisbane and repurposes them for arts projects and artistic development. Superordinary aims to provide opportunities often unavailable to artists due to economic barriers of entry. As a melting pot of energy for multi-disciplinary collaboration, our artists in residency are provided with space, opportunity and encouragement to create and innovate within a like minded community. In addition to our artistic facilitation, Superordinary provides space to emerging creative professionals to garner the support required to produce activations of their own. Our ground floor venue space will be home to many of these, as well as several immersive events and exhibitions from our artists in residence. While our current location at 62 Mary Street is temporary, the ephemeral nature of Superordinary and the community it cultivates will continue on in future spaces responding to their unique attributes. It’s what continues on between these physical spaces that defines Superordinary.

The Bomb Factory Art Foundation was founded on the premise that art, artists and creative culture offer significant value in our society. Our mission is to support artists, cultural organisations and educational institutions to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in the viewing and creation of art. The Bomb Factory enables contemporary visual arts practice to thrive through the provision of affordable studio and exhibition space as well as a supportive network of artists where peer collaboration and critique is encouraged. ​All resident artists support the organisation by contributing their skills and time to the public programme. Their engagement with learning and participation enables The Bomb Factory Art Foundation to demonstrate the social value of art. Over the past five years, The Bomb Factory has established itself as an important fixture on the London Contemporary Art landscape whilst also becoming a valued and important resource for the local community. The Bomb Factory attracts visitors from all over London and beyond, who engage in our exhibition and education programmes. This includes art exhibitions, screenings, workshops, performances, poetry and music events, as well as talks and performance art open mics.

Greylight Projects is an artist-run organization founded in 2009. It focuses on supporting artists in their researches and practices by facilitating, producing and/or organizing events. Greylight Projects has no restriction in terms of types of media or origins of the artistic practices. It has been an organic and intuitive development since the beginning focusing on the work of the artist, and how this could be increased, enhanced by others (the dialogue) and shared with a public.

The mission of the FCA is to advance the knowledge and appreciation of art and culture to all Canadians, offering education, exhibition, and communication in the Visual Arts, and to support and promote emerging to professional member artists.

Space A is Kathmandu (Nepal) based non-governmental autonomous, non-political, non-profitable, and an Artist Initiative with the goal of establishing a stable platform for critical analysis, reflections, open discussions, information exchange, collaboration, and interactive communication. It aims at contributing to interdisciplinary contemporary art practices by setting up researches, discursive events, exhibitions, educational, and residency programs. Space A was formed in 2008 with the involvement of a Visual Artist, Interior Designer, Jewelry Designer, Musician, and writer to promote interdisciplinary art practice in Nepal. This unique diversity leads to lots of magnificent ideas. Kathmandu international artist-in-residence program (KIAR) is an initiative of Space A, a significant hub in the field of contemporary art both locally and internationally. The goal of the KIAR is to create an intellectual space where the residents will get the chance to penetrate the local cultural and socio-political contexts, as well as to combine their artistic practices (research, production, etc.) with meetings, lectures, and other discursive events with local and international artists, cultural experts, critics, and curators.

HyperCube is an artist-run project space that researches the innovative possibilities between alternative art spaces, and artists’ and scientists’ interactions with the in-situ/ex-situ. HyperCube is a non-profit experimental art space founded by artist, Özge Topçu and takes its purpose and identity from her practice. In her artwork, Ozge explores the relationship between the spatiality of space, science, and sociology. Hypercube is dedicated to curating and hosting projects that further understanding between the relationship of space, science, and sociology. As a non-profit organisation, HyperCube creates an open space for trans-disciplinary activity and aims to build institutional engagement with non-institutional actors such as local communities and students. HyperCube is open for project proposals from makers, thinkers, artists, and scientists. In additional to its regular call for curated projects, HyperCube welcomes and responds year round to open submissions. [email protected] Inspired by higher dimensional iterations of the cube, as well as the existing architectural structure of its location, the HyperCube space aims deconstruct the traditional notion of ‘the white cube’ and develop a hyper form of art space.  

b: ATELIER is located in the small regional town of Batlow near the southern Australian Alps. Batlow was severely impacted by the Black Summer Fires of 2020 & this ARI is one artist’s response to help her disaster affected town recover and renew itself in new and creative ways. Artist Robyn Veneer Sweeney is committed to encouraging locals and tourists to visit and support the output of the local arts community, through showing curated contemporary artworks and facilitating locals to engage with the arts through workshops both in-studio and through outreach. b: ATELIER running costs and improvements have been entirely funded by one artist with small donations of equipment by the local arts community. At this time, it is intended to stay an unincorporated NFP. The building has been made available rent free by the owner and patron, Potso. Some works are for sale but sales are not the core intention of the exhibitions. b: ATELIER charges small commissions for sales, the proceeds of which will go to cover running costs and improvements. The Union is a newly created Oslo-based organization (2020), an artist-run mediation platform consisting of Slovakian Martinka Bobrikova, Peruvian-Palestinian Rodrigo Ghattas-Pérez, and Spanish Oscar de Carmen. One of the core missions of The Union is to explore new socio-political realities through digital and physical activism and creative-citizen movements: the impact of Covid-19 – for artists, activists, thinkers, and creative minds – and its aftermath, being one of the most urgent ones. The Union´s laid-back projects target power structures in institutions, triggering loosen-up critical reflections through the use of unconventional, domestic, and experiential practices. We work to create other valorization structures for art, life, and culture, and to reshape the publics’ interaction; to actively participate in the collective design of new forms of care, participation, and empowerment through the arts. Whilst we cultivate countercultures and creative-civil community engagement.

EST art foundation’s purpose is to stimulate and explore new developments within concrete art. EST will initiate exhibitions, attract public attendance, invite international partnerships, house a library, a collection and host discussions to foster knowledge about concrete arts. Throughout, EST will operate according to Fair Practice principles.

Unrequited Leisure is an artist-run space in Nashville, Tennessee that focuses on emerging and mid-career artists who explore screen-based approaches to critical and topical investigations. Exhibitions in the gallery are programmed and organized by its members, and the artists presented are selected through a thematic curatorial framework.

Founded in 2009, Arquetopia Foundation is an internationally established, award-winning non-profit arts and cultural foundation based in Mexico, Peru and Italy, with a social scope that emphasizes critical thinking through artistic practices.   Yellow Brick is a non-profit artistic workspace that fosters relations among local and international artists, art collectives, curators, writers, thinkers and makers with the Athenian context as predominately accessed and introduced through the area of Nea Ionia.  Initiated by artist Vasiliki Sifostratoudaki in 2016, Yellow Brick has so far hosted 32 artists from 25 countries.  Yellow Brick wishes to participate in the cultural production of the city by focusing on the Athenian periphery and more specifically on Yellow Brick’s locale, a culturally diverse neighborhood established by immigrants from the coast of Asia Minor. Yellow Brick understands local identity as an assemblage of cultures, histories, languages, expressions and forms, and welcomes artists and cultural practitioners to activate and sustain a creative dialogue within Nea Ionia and greater Athens through their current interests, social concerns and artistic practices. Edge to Edge is a ViCA initiative that puts into action our policy of continual push to collaborate with artists and institutions across borders. In the first Edge to Edge show throughout 2019 we showed American and Estonian art in the US in our gallery, then did the same in Estonia over the summer. Each country being one edge of western civilization. Then we turned to our southern neighbor, and used the border as a metaphor for Edge to Edge, and brought 12 Mexican artists to the U.S. for the first time. In another participating gallery (in Venice, CA) closed for during the outbreak, we’ll install 12 artists from Japan in a few days, then show the work virtually online. In 2021 (postponed from this coming May) 12 galleries in our building will be hosting an equal number of galleries or more from Berlin. What ideas do you have? How can we help? Space52 founded by the artist Dionisis Christofilogiannis in 2017 and supports Athens based artists and continuously seeks collaborations with art spaces and professionals from abroad. Our community and network grow by facilitating collaborations, exchanges and research-based project. Space52 serves as a hub for local and international creatives, intellectuals and theoreticians. Main focus of all our engagements is the current inquiries of our growing dynamic community. Space52 is the Athens incubator of ideas and experimentations.
