ArtConnect is a global community that celebrates and supports arts & culture Our Story 10 years ago, ArtConnect began as a local Berlin art blog, focused on helping new artists navigate the art world and meet new people in Berlin. Today, ArtConnect is one of the world’s largest online communities of art and art professionals. A place to connect with other artists, collectors, curators and galleries. Our mission is to democratize the art world. We envision a space where artists are able to build their own online fan base, as a way to shift the power balance from the “ gatekeepers” to the creators. By putting the power in the hands of the artists, we will remove the high barrier of entry, to allow the art world to become a more accessible, inclusive and engaging place for newcomers and veterans alike.Be part of a community that is purpose-built to empower artists. If we can work together, we can create a new community of art culture that will help everyone understand the essential contribution that the arts make to our lives. Join the revolution

SCOTTY was founded in 2006. Today, the artist-run project space is located in Kreuzberg, Oranienstrasse and organized by 13 artists. In the house with the smallest floor space in Kreuzberg Scotty provides an open platform for its member artists and curators as well as for guests, offering the greatest possible freedom while exploiting group potential to a maximum. Intermedia and interdisciplinary solo and group exhibitions are shown at regular intervals, and performances and film evenings are organized. The focus is on contemporary social and cultural-political issues. SCOTTY operates independent of the market – it is selfautonomy determined and non-hierarchical. Above and beyond the work in this space in Berlin-Kreuzberg , the members of SCOTTY initiate and organize supra-regional and international cooperation with other similar project spaces, strengthening the position of artists working autonomously through nationwide visibility and networking. Despite the members‘ pronounced individuality, they share a desire to create new opportunities for artistic actions and ideas. The vitality of SCOTTY arises from the consistent, self-determined implementation of democratic agreement among members during the planning and realization of projects.

TOOLBOX: A Finnish German Art Space TOOLBOX is an independent cooperative project of artists, organizing exhibitions to advance international exchange in respect to contemporary art and artistic positions. Openings are every last Friday of the month; the exhibitions present contemporary art in its manifold forms. The artist members of TOOLBOX conceive art as a tool for reflecting on the present age and art as having an impact on or even creating the social world. TOOLBOX has its focus on showing Finnish contemporary art in Berlin and presenting juxtapositions of Finnish next to German artistic views on relevant topics like, for example, ideologies, limits of perception, the significance of emotions, philosophical or political theory or human patterns of making world intelligible. TOOLBOX is a member of Kolonie Wedding, an association of about 30 art project spaces in Soldiner Kiez in Berlin-Wedding. On every last Friday of the month project spaces jointly open their doors for visitors. Information about openings and guided tours to the art spaces you can find here: www.koloniewedding.de Information in German & Finnish: https://www.galerietoolbox.com/about/

6x6 project is an artist-run online platform dedicated to the distribution and promotion of artists’ works in digital form. Founded by artist Mirelle Borra in 2017, 6x6 project is engaged in building an international community of artists. 6x6 project draws inspiration from the alternative art space movement of the 1970s in New York by utilizing the ‘artists-selecting-artists’ model—six artists, each selecting another artist for inclusion on the platform, every six weeks. 6x6 project offers a more multifaceted approach for the audience to discover the multiplicity of artists’ film and moving image practices. We are particularly interested in artistic practices with an emphasis on critical perspectives. Our aim is to disseminate artists’ moving image works to reach a worldwide audience and to foster an ongoing dialogue. Besides, 6x6 project’s online presence—we regularly organize screenings and presentations in art spaces in Berlin, London and other cities. HilbertRaum is an independent, non-commercial, artist-run project space. It opened in January 2015 in the middle of Reuterkiez in Berlin-Neukölln. Behind HilbertRaum is a group of 17 Berlin-based artists, who take turns curating and organizing two-week exhibitions throughout the entire year. Projects incorporate a broad range of painting, photography, sculpture, video, installation and performance. HilbertRaum is named after the infinitely dimensioned Hilbert space, a concept developed by the mathematician David Hilbert. To us, it represents an open, undetermined and evolving structure of self-organization with the expectation of the unexpected. EULENGASSE is an artist-run space in Frankfurt am Main, that provides a platform for artists and those interested in contemporary art and culture, and is dedicated to representing contemporary art. Founded in 2003, EULENGASSE is open for discussion, independent of the art market and open to a wide variety of different and even controversial perspectives. For several years, EULENGASSE has chosen an annual theme and then organizes exhibitions and events based on this theme for the entire year. Artists are invited and the demands of contemporary art and cultural education are discussed and freshly interpreted. The artist-run space EULENGASSE is an important venue in the Frankfurt art community and shows different artistic approaches and positions in an informal, yet professional, environment. A special feature of EULENGASSE is the »project meeting«: a meeting of all interested members, which takes place once a month in two different formats. The members are mainly artists: painters, sculptors, graphic artists, musicians, actors, architects and designers, and they exchange artistic positions, determine the collective politics, conceive projects and prepare future exhibitions and events. In addition to exhibitions, EULENGASSE organizes discussions and lectures, film programmes, performances, music events and excursions. This way the the artist-run space offers […]

Centrum is a contemporary art space in the Flughafenkiez district of Neukölln, Berlin. Formerly used as a retail store and brothel, Centrum’s exhibition space is not a white cube, but owes its specific character to its tiled floor composed of red ceramic and grey stone tiles, and from the large shop window looking out into the street. Centrum offers a platform for the discourses in and around contemporary art as well as the opportunity to meet artists through artist talks, lectures, and film screenings. We work with international and locally based artists, offering space and support for experimentation and for the development of new work. Centrum was founded in 2009 by Kate Squires and David Moynihan and since September 2014 is currently run by Mareike Spendel; since March 2015 supported by Natalie Weiland. In September 2016 the team was joined by Aurica Kastner.
