We cordially invite you to join us for the artist talk of the exhibit “Motion Trap” on Saturday 27 January at 19:00 in the presence of Samah Shihadi and Michael Halak.

The Artists:
Michael Halak was born in 1975 in Fassuta village and currently lives and works in Haifa. After studying Fine Arts at Haifa University, Halak won a residence scholarship in 2005 to attend the Florence Academy of Art, where he perfected his hyperrealist style. He graduated a MFA at Haifa University in 2009. Halak has exhibited extensively in museums and galleries in the USA, Europe and Israel– including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and Noga Gallery in Tel Aviv, Haifa University Art Gallery, Haifa Museum, Herzliya Museum and Ramat Gan Museum– as well as in Europe and the USA. Halak received several awards including from the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports (twice) and the Rappaport Prize for a Young Israeli Painter.
Samah Shiadi: (born in Sha`b, in 1987) is a Haifa-based artist. She is a graduate of the Oranim College where she obtained a BA in 2012, and the Haifa University where she completed a MFA in 2015. Shihadi has painted for as long as she can remember and having spent seven years studying art, she has mastered the art of draughtsmanship. Shihadi focuses on drawing in a realistic style, evoking photographic imagery by working with both pencil and charcoal. Her work often revolves around the daily personal and social challenges faced by women in their home environment and beyond. Shihadi has received numerous prizes, including the Ismail Shammout Award in Fine Art and Young Award by the Ministry of Culture & Sport. She has exhibited consistently both in Israel/Palestine and abroad.
