Fambo is a 1 day queer contemporary arts festival for LGBTQIA+ families with children aged 4-12.

LGBTQIA+ identifying artists across disciplines have been invited to create and lead workshops, activities and performances for young people and their families that celebrate the queer experience through connection, creation, participation and play.

Offering a new and exciting opportunity for queer families to engage in queer contemporary arts and culture, Fambo is a first of it’s kind festival that seeks to bring together community in a space where gender is not binary or imposed, different bodies are not othered, and creative expression of self is encouraged, celebrated and safe.

The 2018 Fambo program will include the work of artists EO Gill, Kieran Butler, Nicole Barakat, Shahmen Suku and a kids party hosted by Heaps Gay. The full program and schedule will be announced closer to the festival at www.fambo.com.au.

Artistic Director, Jenn Blake, is a queer identifying arts and cultural leader who has extensive experience working within the sector for a number of significant cultural institutions and festivals across Australia including Underbelly Arts Festival, Performance Space, Sydney Festival & Sydney Children’s Festival. They were the Producer for Underbelly Arts Festival 2010 and 2011 and have worked for the last 6 years as the Program Manager at Campbelltown Arts Centre (CAC) in South West Sydney.
