This workshop will be an intensive introduction to a number of powerful approaches to self cultivation and creative analysis. It will equip you with the requisite tools to create a rooted personal vision and to fulfil that vision within your chosen medium – be it an artistic project, a creative practice or indeed any part of your life.

The three day, fully catered residency will take place at a self-sustaining artists’ retreat and smallholding set within 40 acres of ancient woods and farmland close to the West Dorset coast.

During three days of workshops, games, seminars and rigorous bodywork, teacher and maker Ryan Kiggell will offer a comprehensive introduction to a range of approaches that will lead the participants into this creative process.  Applying the techniques to their lives and work, participants will learn to unlock deeper states of  insight, presence and spontaneity, galvanise their imagination and make work that is intimately connected to living sources of inspiration.

The residency is characterised by its search for new connections, exchange and learning amongst artists. Between training sessions there will be time for roaming through ancient woodland, trips to the nearby Jurassic coast, camp fires, communal eating and personal retreat time.

Whilst aimed at those working within the cultural medium, many of the approaches are transferrable to business practice, family life, personal development and so on. All ages, abilities and levels of experience are warmly invited to take part.

”It was a privilege to work with Ryan. Not only did he give an excellent workshop, he taught me how to be an artist. He showed me that through a mixture of self-trust, intuition, hard work, and discipline I can create work that has real depth. I am grateful for every day of training with Ryan, yes for giving me a wonderful technical understanding but also a new sense of faith in myself as an artist.” Ana Nieto Gamboa, filmmaker
