On Friday 14 of February at the 20 hours Espai sant Marc will present works of the artist A.J.Ballester, focused on the graphic art, black and white, with clear influencies of the engraver Frans Masereel. A.J.Ballester always do his works at series, is a way that facilitates him that his work was coherent. These series always are the result of an intention, of something that really motivates him and that needs to express of a conclusive way. The titles of the last series at what A.J.Ballester has worked and works now give  an idea about where is going his tematiques: “Depeculator Aerari”, “Relats de poder”, “El somni de l’amor produeix monstres”, “Un món feliç”. This last title could be for all them. Those works talks us always about a moral decomposition. With this title that recalls the famed novela of Aldous Huxley presents us a work that does a research at the darkest part of the human beings. Regarding the technics, one will see drawings of charcoal or ink and xylography. The xylography merit a comment aside for his expressive immediacy. The treatment of the dark and the clarity, with the half keys limited. The famed sentence of “less is more” becomes evident. The black and white abyss that always surprises in the printed result.
