“Attokoussy” is an art and collective research project that opens a space of reflection and expression on rites and superstitions in Morocco.
In this context we want to invite four Moroccan artists to reflect together on these issues within the framework of a research and production residency. The project also foresees a collaboration with two Kurdish artists, in order to emerge from a construction of European-centered knowledge, to incite everyone to decenter his point of view and to shift preconceived ideas that continue to nourish archaic discourses.
The period of residence will be enriched by meetings and round tables between artists, researchers and anthropologists of the Maghreb focusing their research on these themes.
In partnership with the Centre Jacques Berque we will also organize a public study day reactivating this forgotten, invisible or folklorized intangible cultural heritage.
