Performance is a modern art genre in which the art is presented “live” by an artist or a group of collaborators, and can happen anywhere, anytime, in any type of setting. Artworks are created through scripted or spontaneous live actions, and involve the elements of time, space, the performer’s body or presence in a medium and a relationship with the audience. Performance is also used to describe video, film and installation-based artworks in which the actions of artists are conveyed.
