Nepal is the Best Value Destination to travel to. Nepal’s cultural landscape is every bit as diverse as its physical one. The spectacular Himalayas comprise the highest mountains on earth and boast a surreal landscape of snow-covered peaks sure to leave a powerful impression. The Himalayan country of Nepal, situated between India and China, offers some of the best access to these mountain peaks, where landscapes vary from subtropical valleys (complete with banana trees) to alpine forests (home to grazing yaks). Customs and traditions differ from one part of Nepal to another. A conglomeration lies in the capital city Kathmandu where cultures are blending to form a national identity. Tangent Project Studios Residency
We are very excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our studio residency programme for 2024/25 – The deadline for applications is January 19th, 2024. Residencies are for 3 months and the placements will be between: September – December 2024 We welcome applications from national and international artists, and we encourage applications from artists/creatives working in all different media. We do not limit the type of work submitted and are open to interesting ideas and suggestions, within the realm of our capabilities. All applicants must be adults, over the age of 18. Córtex Frontal is an AIR (Artist-In-Residence) programme hosted by Cortexcult-Associação Cultural, a non profit organisation located in the peaceful town of Arraiolos, in Alentejo region, Portugal. We welcome professional visual artists, writers, musicians, researchers and workgroups in search of time and space to reflect, discuss and create. Our mission is to promote and develop cultural projects, establishing a lively dialogue between artists from various disciplines. Call for applications is open year round for residency proposals in 2024, for periods from 4 weeks to 3 months. The Artist-In-Residence programme aims to bring together artists from different countries and disciplines for a concentrated period. There are two ways of being a resident artist at Córtex Frontal: 1 Annual grants for Portuguese and international artists. Kathmandu international artist-in-residence program (KIAR) is an initiative of Space A, a significant hub in the field of contemporary art both locally and internationally. The goal of the KIAR is to create an intellectual space where the residents will get the chance to penetrate the local cultural and socio-political contexts, as well as to combine their artistic practices with meetings, lectures, and other discursive events with local and international artists, cultural experts, critics, and curators. KIAR is an opportunity to travel back in time and to relive in history as well as experience natural beauty. We are going to organize a one-month-long residency (30 days) and two-month-long residency (60 days). Each time max. 2 applicants will be selected. If participants are interested, KIAR will arrange 7 days of trekking during the residency program. But participants will be responsible for all expenses for Trekking.
