What was your motivation?
Lack of art residency programmes in Athens; Snehta is the first art residency in the city of Athens.

What kind of events are usually organized?
Artist talks, dinners, exhibition, sales, workshops, educational programming.

How is your programming determined?
Based on community and financial needs. Everything will get filtered through the initiatives mission, therefore a variety of activities gets created.

Do you accept proposals/submissions?
Yes, we are open to receiving proposals by local and international artists.

What is your artistic/curatorial approach?
Invited curators (in-house curators) work with artists in residence, and satellite exhibitions also get organised with external collaborators.

What kind of role do you hope to play in your local art scene or community?
An art residency for both local and foreign artists, an artist community, a tool for artists and a centre that raises awareness through art as a vehicle for improving our day-to-day lives.

What idea are you most excited about for the future?
We are currently considering a number of pathways for the future focusing on further developing professional facilities for artists, and further showcasing work by experimental and talented artists.
