Arraiolos

Córtex Frontal is a multidisciplinary cultural project created in 2016 by the Cultural Association Córtexcult, in Arraiolos, Évora, Alentejo. We organize artist residencies, workshops and exhibitions on Visual Arts, Performative Arts, Literature & Music. Our goal is to promote and develop cultural projects, establishing a lively dialogue between artists from various disciplines. We have a minimum of 3 and maximum of 9 artists in residence at the same time, the number will depend on the season and special events. Artist accommodation and studios are located in the residency house, in the center of the town. We organize a general residency program that might vary according to each project: Regular follow up of the projects; Thematic workshops; Field trips to the natural, cultural and industrial heritage of the region; Resident artist lectures in local schools and art university; Networking and support with local and regional resources; Monthly schedule of the residency, local and regional events; Open studio.
