126 was set up in response to the lack of spaces in Galway, Ireland in November 2005. In 2007 it modeled itself after Transmission Gallery in Glasgow with a rotating Board of Directors.

Viafarini is a creative incubator and a hub for visual arts located at Fabbrica del Vapore, collaborating with other renowned organizations in Milan, in Italy and abroad. Viafarini has been founded in 1991 as a non-profit organization for contemporary art, when this concept was new to Italy. Nowadays Viafarini is renovating its mission: starting from the idea of a creative incubator aiming at the professional training of emerging artists within the art system, it is shifting toward the idea of an agency for the creation of networks of collaboration between artistic research, private commission, entrepreneurship and the social environment. Viafarini’s know-how about documentation, art consultancy, production, residency, education, communication and exhibition services are put at disposal for interdisciplinary collaboration projects. The benefits guaranteed by this innovative approach reverberates not only on the single artist’s career, but on the society itself. Thanks to this hybrid, participative and multidisciplinary approach Viafarini innovates its cultural offer in order to understand the implications of the great change under way: from an artistic as well as social, political and anthropological point of view.

PROGRAMMING ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art is an independent, non-profit gallery promoting and supporting innovative contemporary art and artists through exhibitions, education, and events. ATHICA is committed to the local art community and to bringing in national and international contemporary artists of all media. The programming features rotating exhibitions of various themes and affiliated events (such as performances, music, panel discussions, screenings, lectures, workshops, children’s events, tours, and more). Over the past decade, ATHICA has presented over 1200 regional, national, and international artists in over 60 exhibitions and hundreds of affiliated events. ATHICA features up to seven formal exhibitions yearly, including an annual juried exhibition which has featured jurors such as Michael Rooks of Atlanta’s High Musuem, Harry DeLorme of Savannah’s Telfair Museum, and Teresa Reeves of the Zuckerman Museum. 127 garage is a space for cultural initiatives from artists and for artists.   We, the artist Anton Tkachenko and the curator Nastia Khlestova, opened a space for exhibitions, lectures, shows, meetings, discussions, and, most importantly, experiments in our garage. Our main goal and mission are to create a space comfortable for work and interaction, supporting young artists. We want to make art accessible and popular, therefore, locating in a residential complex, we are open to communication and work with the local community. 127 garage’s work is centered on different formats of knowledge exchange and developing new tools for understanding the condition today for a queerer tomorrow. 127 garage opens up new discursive lines, by involving different actors into challenging spatial narratives. 127 garage strives for a world of horizontal hegemonies, borderlessness, and borderlands, guided by our curiosity and urgency.

The Border Art Residency, a non-profit organization affiliated with the El Paso Community Foundation, offers a selected artist a period of retreat for creative work in a living/studio space in the heart of El Paso, Texas. Resident artists are provided with a fully furnished living/working space, a monthly stipend of $600, and all utilities paid (except phone and Internet). The living space is a fully furnished 11 x 16’(Approximately) studio apartment.

CSW Wiewiórka (en. Center for Contemporary Art Squirrel) is an artist-run space located in a 18th century salt storage in Kraków. CCA Squirrel is a base for local artists and NGOs focusing on culture and education. Additionally, the tenants organize exhibitions, workshops and residency programs. CCA Squirrel also provides art-support for activists, initiatives and environmental campaigns.

DUPLEX | Artists in Residence is an independent artist-run-space, composed of studios, a residency program and a gallery. DUPLEX occupies an area of 1000m2 distributed by 3 main floors. Petrohradská kolektiv is an artist-run initiative with its own cultural production and original dramaturgy. It’s a meeting point of experiments and contemporary arts founded in 2015. The original idea behind Petrohradská kolektiv was to make a community space for creativity and art practice, where there’s a place for both efficient working and pleasant relaxing, where you can focus on your own projects and then take a break without the necessity of leaving the building. Artists working within Petrohradská kolektiv get space, freedom and attention. Our activities are aimed at exhibitions, educational practice, live art and creative cooperations with Czech and foreign artists. Petrohradská kolektiv wants to contribute to the meaning of “art” within society by supporting, presenting and producing art projects. The basic pillars of the initiative are Artist in Residence program, Jedna Dva Tři Gallery, the Live Arts program consisting of music and performative program. In the beginning of 2019 the allied Kafe Petrohradská café situated in our building, opened. A new club cinema Kino Petrohradská will open in 2021. Petrohradská kolektiv’s building also offers more than 30 studios rented by artists based in Prague. Over the years, more than 200 artists worked in the rented studios.

The Bomb Factory Art Foundation was founded on the premise that art, artists and creative culture offer significant value in our society. Our mission is to support artists, cultural organisations and educational institutions to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in the viewing and creation of art. The Bomb Factory enables contemporary visual arts practice to thrive through the provision of affordable studio and exhibition space as well as a supportive network of artists where peer collaboration and critique is encouraged. ​All resident artists support the organisation by contributing their skills and time to the public programme. Their engagement with learning and participation enables The Bomb Factory Art Foundation to demonstrate the social value of art. Over the past five years, The Bomb Factory has established itself as an important fixture on the London Contemporary Art landscape whilst also becoming a valued and important resource for the local community. The Bomb Factory attracts visitors from all over London and beyond, who engage in our exhibition and education programmes. This includes art exhibitions, screenings, workshops, performances, poetry and music events, as well as talks and performance art open mics.

Greylight Projects is an artist-run organization founded in 2009. It focuses on supporting artists in their researches and practices by facilitating, producing and/or organizing events. Greylight Projects has no restriction in terms of types of media or origins of the artistic practices. It has been an organic and intuitive development since the beginning focusing on the work of the artist, and how this could be increased, enhanced by others (the dialogue) and shared with a public.

A4 Sounds is a non-profit artist-run workspace and gallery in north-inner-city Dublin. It is one of the biggest artist-led spaces in Ireland, currently providing facilities and professional development support to 80 artists. World of Co Artist Residency is a project, inspired by the vivid contemporary art scene and the cultural treasures around us. After years of living abroad and taking part in different art organizations and residencies, in 2017 the WOC crew decided to bring their experience and knowledge to Bulgaria – by creating an international artist residency in Sofia. The mission of World of Co Artist Residency is to create a platform for exploration and experiments for international and Bulgarian artists, to bring awareness about Bulgaria, its’ art and culture, and to contribute to the local contemporary art scene and community. World of Co Artist Residency offers a friendly, supportive and stimulating atmosphere to international and Bulgarian artists, curators, researchers and art managers. The residency enables to develop ongoing research, to work on art projects and discover the city and the artistic scene of Bulgaria. By creating opportunities for meetings, the program initiates an environment for exchanges and discussions to foster common experiments between people and venues from various disciplinary fields. Space A is Kathmandu (Nepal) based non-governmental autonomous, non-political, non-profitable, and an Artist Initiative with the goal of establishing a stable platform for critical analysis, reflections, open discussions, information exchange, collaboration, and interactive communication. It aims at contributing to interdisciplinary contemporary art practices by setting up researches, discursive events, exhibitions, educational, and residency programs. Space A was formed in 2008 with the involvement of a Visual Artist, Interior Designer, Jewelry Designer, Musician, and writer to promote interdisciplinary art practice in Nepal. This unique diversity leads to lots of magnificent ideas. Kathmandu international artist-in-residence program (KIAR) is an initiative of Space A, a significant hub in the field of contemporary art both locally and internationally. The goal of the KIAR is to create an intellectual space where the residents will get the chance to penetrate the local cultural and socio-political contexts, as well as to combine their artistic practices (research, production, etc.) with meetings, lectures, and other discursive events with local and international artists, cultural experts, critics, and curators.

HyperCube is an artist-run project space that researches the innovative possibilities between alternative art spaces, and artists’ and scientists’ interactions with the in-situ/ex-situ. HyperCube is a non-profit experimental art space founded by artist, Özge Topçu and takes its purpose and identity from her practice. In her artwork, Ozge explores the relationship between the spatiality of space, science, and sociology. Hypercube is dedicated to curating and hosting projects that further understanding between the relationship of space, science, and sociology. As a non-profit organisation, HyperCube creates an open space for trans-disciplinary activity and aims to build institutional engagement with non-institutional actors such as local communities and students. HyperCube is open for project proposals from makers, thinkers, artists, and scientists. The Union is a newly created Oslo-based organization (2020), an artist-run mediation platform consisting of Slovakian Martinka Bobrikova, Peruvian-Palestinian Rodrigo Ghattas-Pérez, and Spanish Oscar de Carmen. One of the core missions of The Union is to explore new socio-political realities through digital and physical activism and creative-citizen movements: the impact of Covid-19 – for artists, activists, thinkers, and creative minds – and its aftermath, being one of the most urgent ones. The Union´s laid-back projects target power structures in institutions, triggering loosen-up critical reflections through the use of unconventional, domestic, and experiential practices. We work to create other valorization structures for art, life, and culture, and to reshape the publics’ interaction; to actively participate in the collective design of new forms of care, participation, and empowerment through the arts. Whilst we cultivate countercultures and creative-civil community engagement.
