Yvo van der Vat is the new artist in residence at Espai Sant Marc this June. The dutch artist who lives in Dordrecht will present a new project made in Sineu. This will be at Espai sant marc next wednesday the 20th of June, from 11am till 14pm and from 20pm till 22pm.
“During my time in the studio of Sant Marc, Sineu, Mallorca, I want to make a new installation of small works and performance art, that are inspired by things at this moment, like Sineu Market, World Cup Russia 2018, spanish funeral and death of a guitarist from The Hague, The Netherlands, but also by inspiration by mallorquin nature and my own physical state!”
Yvo van der Vat (1974) was born in Voorburg , the Netherlands and is now living and working in Dordrecht. He studied Art school at the Royal Art School The Hague and is now a situation composer. He creates installations, performances and interventions as a builder, a thinker and an organiser. His Ideas don’t stay as a concept, in practice there is a lot done. He is always busy with originality, identity and reproduction. Humor is his middle name and he is always trying to combine the personal element with the industrial. He also has a nomadic artist-initiative called Baracca together with Ibrahim R. ineke. They curate exhibitions, do projects and make concepts for public space.
