Residency

Slipvillan aims to involve the artists-in-residence in public interaction, initiating both aesthetic and philosophical conversations, and they welcome a variety of artistic positions. Artist-talk, presentation or exhibition will be encouraged in connection to the stay. Slipvillan is in collaboration with the artist-run gallery Studio 44, a central meeting place for the artist-run community of Stockholm, and a catalyst for numerous ideas and thoughts in the fields of visual arts. Slipvillan has 5 studios used for various cultural activities, exhibitions, talks, conferences as well as working space. Two of the studios are used by local artists on a permanent basis providing contacts and help to the AIR. The garden is used both as a recreation area and for outdoor work. Slipvillan has housed cultural activities since 2007. The AIR began in 2020 and is open to international artists, curators and speakers as a working place for periods of one to six months.

Onassis AiR, is an (inter)national artistic research residency program that was established by the Onassis Foundation in September 2019, in Athens, Greece. Founded on the principles of learning and doing with others, Onassis AiR grounds its mission in supporting the artistic process by offering space and time to arts professionals from various backgrounds and disciplines to delve deeper into their practice without any requirement to present a final work. Since we opened our doors in September 2019, we have experimented with various formats of thinking and practising together -from individual research programs to fostering a thematic collective research study– always adapting our programs based on the needs of a growing community of peers. Art Aia – Creatives / In / Residence is an international art residency located near the comune of Sesto al Reghena in the north-eastern Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It’s a place for artistic production and research that focuses on the development of the creative process and facilitates cultural exchange across borders. History  Art Aia – Creatives / In / Residence is located three kilometers from Sesto al Reghena, in the locality of “Banduzzo” (which in local dialect means “Place Banned”) and from the mid-nineteenth century has been an agricultural center of the Morassutti Family. The small Church of St. Anthony of Padua  In the garden of Art Aia – Creatives / In / Residence stands the nineteenth century Church of St. Anthony of Padua, erected by the owners of these lands and it contains the contemporary altar-piece which represents Saint John the Baptist and Saint Antony of Padua. Water Tower Artist Residency is a nonprofit organization committed to socially engaged, people-centered activities with a 10-year history of running the biggest festival of contemporary art in Sofia: Water Tower Art Fest.   Paadmaan (meaning ‘safeguard’ in Farsi) is an independent artist-run platform for contemporary art with an interdisciplinary approach established in 2018, based in Tehran. Through a variety of curatorial programming, Paadmaan seeks to expand on existing discourses surrounding contemporary art within various Iranian communities and supporting their input, transforming into output. Paadmaan aims to proceed networking locally and internationally and improve the collective in the contemporary art scene by focusing on research, dialogue and presentation. Paadmaan promotes these by organizing exhibitions, events, artist residencies, lectures, screenings, publications and various interactions throughout Iran and abroad.

The Pushkinskaya-10 is Russia’s oldest independent art centre founded in Leningrad in 1989. A former squat, created by nonconformist artists representing the alternative culture in the Soviet period, today it’s an exhibition space, a studio complex and a museum.

Laundromat Art Space is an artist-run studio and exhibition complex which focuses on the development of local artists and provides innovative curatorial opportunities and artistic programming for the community.

Future Utopia Community Key is an Artist in Residence (AiR) program. It is dedicated to the activities in the rural village of Uddebo and the area. The objective is to respond to the specific needs of the local and social context belonging to a rural community committed to economic sustainability, where the inhabitants claim the defence of the intangible, of the pro-common. The Residence program is a collaborative agency, dedicated to new social bonding and community building. It’s a process-oriented platform with a cross-disciplinary approach. The main areas of focus is ecological, economical and political utopian societies in a post-human perspective. FARM STUDIO ( International Artist Residency – India) FARM Studio International Artist Residency’s aim is to provide a rural, community-based open platform where creativity can unfold. Residents stay and create in a unique atmosphere and entirely new environment where they can develop their artwork free from accustomed distractions. Relationships form between the artists coming from different geographical locations and varied social, religious and cultural backgrounds. Here, collaborations and experimentation is encouraged. Many exciting exchanges and dialogues among artists take place. Farm Studio also promotes and celebrates the local community’s artistic and cultural identity while also introducing art and culture of others (Indian and International guests) back to the community. This intercultural exchange broadens everyone’s experiences and fosters art appreciation. Farm Studio International Artist Residency hosts artists from September to March each year, with accommodations available for up to 6-12 residents at one time. Artists of all disciplines creating in any media are welcome to apply: dance, theatre, music, sound, performance art, writing, painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, culinary, photography, video/film, animation, architecture, sculpture (any material), ceramics, mixed-media / multi-media, interdisciplinary, installation, and other new/alternative media. CRIPTA747 is a non-profit visual art organisation founded in Turin in 2008: it is a place for research, exchange and production where the artistic practices face the contemporary debate. Through a programme of exhibitions, screenings and events, CRIPTA747 investigates new forms and languages ​​with the aim of giving back to the audience an authentic and fresh vision. Since 2017, we have started two new programmes dedicated to international mobility: Residency, to support research with fellowships, and Studio, a project of shared work space with a focus on production.

STUDIO BAUSTELLE is an artist-run space for art, events and experiments in Neukölln, Berlin highlighting analogue and accessible media. We are a group of 5 artists Monika Berstis, Annsofie Jonsson, Janin Walter, Marija Brasnic, Felicia Scheuerecker ​  

BigCi is an independent, artist run, not for profit artist residency program focusing on artists’ professional development and facilitating their projects. BigCi has been established and run by Rae Bolotin, a practicing artist, and Yuri Bolotin, environmentalist and wilderness explorer. We are situated on the edge of Wollemi National Park within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains, one of the world’s top biodiversity hotspots. Due to our location and the knowledge base of our team, many of our resident artists are particularly interested in projects that explore environmental or ecological issues, although many others use our outstanding natural surroundings as a source of creativity for a variety of different artistic pursuits. All residents have opportunities to take part in bushwalks conducted by Yuri Bolotin, an experienced mountain guide and author, and to learn first-hand about the unique biodiversity and geodiversity of the area. Artists-in-residence are able to present their work during a BigCi Open Day that takes place at the end of their stay.
