  Exgirlfriend is a contemporary art exhibition space established by Elena Feijoo in Berlin-Steglitz in 2016. Since then, the gallery has moved its location to a 150 square meter hall within the larger HER arts building in Alt-Mariendorf. Exgirlfriend has been showcasing 7 innovative exhibitions by local and international emerging artists each year alongside a wide-ranging external programming schedule. At the end of each year, Exgirlfriend hosts an open call for which all project types and applicants are eligible. Exgirlfriend is in a constant state of flux determined by its changing cultural context as well as by everyone who has a relationship with the space—collaborators, artists, and audiences.

    Pallas Projects/Studios (founded 1996) is a not-for-profit artist-run organisation dedicated to the facilitation of artistic production and discourse, via the provision of affordable artists studios in Dublin’s city centre, and curated projects. Pallas Projects is an umbrella label for a variety of spaces, exchanges, off-site projects, exhibitions, talks, resource programmes, research and publications conceived of and put into practice over a 20-year period. Our research project and publication ‘Artist-Run Europe’ (Onomatopee, Eindhoven, 2016), included contributions from AA Bronson, Transmission Gallery, Gavin Wade, Céline Kopp & Alun Williams, and featured essays, case studies, and an index of over 500 European artist-run spaces. www.artist-run.eu  

  Arts Letters & Numbers (ALN) is a non-profit arts and education organization dedicated to fostering creative exchanges across a broad range of disciplines including architecture, visual arts, theatre arts, film, music, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Operating globally, regionally and locally, ALN seeks to bring together artists of diverse backgrounds, practices and ages. It conducts programs in educational and cultural institutions worldwide, collaborating with universities, high schools, museums, theatre companies, and community organizations. In addition, the organization runs an ongoing interdisciplinary artist-in-residence program, as well as educational workshops, sessions, exhibitions and events, taking place year-round at ‘The Mill’ located in Upstate, NY.  

  Artopus collective is a group of 13 interdisciplinary artists based in Tel Aviv, Israel. We share a studio space, produce exhibitions, workshops, lectures and cultural events within that space. Artopus aims to invite the public to explore their own creativity and get to know the local artists working in their midst.  

  This Delray Beach CRA rehabilitated warehouse located on Artist Alley in the Pineapple Grove district is an Arts Incubator space for artist residencies, arts education, community-based arts projects, as well as exhibitions, events and talks focused on Contemporary Art. The Arts Warehouse provides developmental programs & assistance to visual artists locally, nationally and internationally. Resident & Affiliate Artist have 24 hour facility access.  

Phoenix Athens is a non-profit art gallery and residency in Athens that provides workshops and opportunities for local and international creatives to develop and showcase their practice in Greece. As a venue for art appreciation and education, Phoenix Athens also explores the innovative ways in which artists, thinkers and designers contribute to the well-being of societies and help to regenerate hope in communities. We provide local and international creatives to come and develop their professional practice within the dynamic community of Neapoli-Exarcheia in Athens through our residency program: Villa Exarcheia. We review residency applications to this program on an ongoing basis, and welcome proposals for collectives and academics to live, work and stay in this wonderful city. As both an artist and the director of Phoenix Athens, I am interested in collaborating with artists, designers and other members of the The Artist-Run Alliance who share a vital interest in transforming and benefitting societies through art and design.   Berlinskej Model is a non-profit gallery based in art district Holešovice, Prague, Czech Republic. Berlinskej Model has been founded in 2011 and it’s known as a meeting point for the current art scene, crossing borders of the local district, genres and generations. The gallery is also organizing workshops, talks, discussion panels, concerts and regularly issuing art magazine RAJON. Berlinskej Model mainly focuses on contemporary art overlapping in political and social involved activism. Berlinskej Model runs exhibitions once per week, presenting every new artist on Wednesdays only. The show is on just for one night only, so it’s an opening and a closing ceremony in one, including a meal cooked by the exhibiting artist.  

[gP] is an artist collective living and working from Lincoln, UK. Promoting exchange with wider artist led initiatives nationally and internationally [gP] seeks to stimulate a critical discourse, and sustain an engaged visual arts culture in the city through the programming of exhibitions, events and workshops. ​ With an emphasis on a fluid and experimental approach, gP encourages a diverse range of artistic practices that are developed collectively. Within the core group of approximately 10 artists there are on-going collaborations with more specific interests such as Curio, Mulch, Angry Gang, GAST, Reel and KAC which extend into the wider artistic community, incorporating contributions from practitioners in other locales. This collaborative ethos is clearly demonstrated through our workshop practice too; continuing to encourage collective exploration of creative subjects, blurring the line between workshop facilitators and workshop attendees.  

The Kulturdrogerie association, located in a former drugstore on Gentzgasse 86-88 in Vienna’s 18th district, Währing, makes studio space, production space, and exhibition and presentation area available to selected, invited artists. The association was founded in 2005 by sculptors Markus Hiesleitner and Franz Tišek. Kulturdrogerie is an experimental art space that functions as an ideational testing ground, and provides artists with support and space that they otherwise would not have at their disposal to realize their projects. The Kulturdrogerie thus views its purpose as a place of production and exhibition for contemporary young art.  

  U10 Art Space is an independent artist-run space dedicated to supporting contemporary art founded in 2012 in Belgrade. It was founded with the purpose to be a platform where young local artists would be shown. By collaborating with similar spaces and initiatives, U10 Art Space actively works on creating a culture of artistic education, debate and exchange between artists, curators, art theoreticians, writers and the wider public. The main focus of the program is to create solo and group shows presenting mainly young artists from Serbia. A few slots per year are dedicated to international projects whose concept is aimed at creating active exchange and collaborating with local artists; followed by presenting mid-career artists. An integral part of the program includes events such as: exhibition guidings by artists and curators, performances, sound and music performances, discussions and panels as well as parallel events outside of the space itself and abroad. U10 Art Space is run by seven artists and an art historian: Lidija Delić, Nina Ivanović, Sava Knežević, Isidora Krstić, Iva Kuzmanović, Nemanja Nikolić, Marija Šević and Sanda Kalebić

  Selected by Artslant Magazine as one of Berlin’s most interesting non-profit art spaces, SomoS finds meaning in a pragmatic innovative hybrid of art-presentation, production, education and reflection that engages with, and celebrates an ever-changing community; living and working together in a multi-generational, multi-cultural setting. Organizing an Artist-in-Residency program and an ambitious exhibition and event schedule, SomoS closely works with artists, organizers and curators to realize their projects. SomoS’ mission is to create an international open framework for innovative arts and creative cooperation.  

Visual Artist Unit is a voluntary run, artist-led art collective. Set up in 2014 by 8 graduates from Gray’s School of Art (Aberdeen) and Duncan of Jordanstone (Dundee), VAU commits itself to the dual aims of supporting early-career artists based in Scotland and improving public engagement and access to contemporary art to wider public audiences. Graduate, early-career and emerging artists can join VAU’s Artist Membership programme, which aims to provide a wide-ranging support for artists to develop and sustain their practices in day to day life. VAU runs a yearly public engagement programme, hosting a range of exciting and innovative exhibitions, workshops, talks, commissions and events across Scotland which our members are invited to participate in for professional development experiences. These activities aim to build bridges between artists and the public, helping to improve access and engagement in contemporary art for all.

Studio Residencies at Con Artist Collective The residencies at Con Artist Collective are short-term curated 60-day studio stays culminating in a special week-long showcase gallery exhibition. They are either seasonal, or based upon a particular medium. Our jurors are often NYC creatives, art luminaries, past members, and friends and family of the collective that are up to exciting things in their respective fields. You’ll sit down with each juror from the cycle for exclusive feedback socials.   OKK/Raum29 is an atelier, experimental- and exhibition space, a mediating platform for dialogue which offers a place for a diverse range of art works in the frame of an „expanded art term“. OKK is an artist-run platform for cultural activism based in Berlin, Germany. Rather than supporting single artistic careers, the initiative aims at providing a basic structure for artists and locals to join an open network of topic-specific activities. OKK has been home to various participative, collaborative and socially engaged projects – in its neighbourhood in Berlin, Wedding, as well as in other parts of Germany and abroad. Regularly, we invite artists and cultural workers from different genres to present their works in exhibitions and artistic events. The interdisciplinarity of the projects is important to us. The OKK / room 29 has been used in different ways by international artists sinse summer 2007. Artists from various disciplines convert the space according to their own aesthetics. Neverland Artspace is an alternative space for a multinational network of artists and curators based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The artspace aims to spark your curiosity and provide a playground for learning through various media platforms that include exhibitions, workshops, talks, social arts and performing arts. Neverland also houses two permanent studios:  n o w h e r e art studio and BL_NK.

Florìda is a cultural space located in the old Jewish Ghetto in Genoa’s historic center. It is an experimental project that aims to promote social and urban development through the tools of art, co-creation, and international artistic mobility. The goal is to enhance new lifestyles and enjoyment of the territory by counteracting the tendency of its inhabitants to abandon the historic center, with a particular focus on young people. The association hosts artists in residence, organizes exhibitions, and facilitates artistic collaborations to strengthen the local social and creative network, believing that artistic practice is an opportunity for contamination and enrichment for all parties involved. Since 2023, Florìda has hosted ten artists in residence, realized three international exhibitions, three artistic residencies for Academy students, and five ‘Small Talks’, a free and open dinner formula animated by a dialogue on artistic practices and contemporary cities. The association has also collaborated with several organizations and cultural institutions operating in the historic center of Genoa.

The Museum of Loss and Renewal is an art project that offers space and contexts for making and sharing, by taking time. Rather than being a museum in the traditional sense that accumulates ‘stuff’, The Museum of Loss and Renewal stimulates people to take time in which to generate thoughts, feelings and ideas. The Museum of Loss and Renewal is a growing collection of experiences that are regularly shared through the activities of its curators, partners and residents, and is a vehicle that enables the consideration of how to lead a more balanced life. The Museum of Loss and Renewal nurtures relationships between creative people across disciplines, worldwide. The Individual Residency Programme Taking Time / Prendendo Tempo and Group Residency Programme Place, People and Time are situated in Collemacchia, in the Apennine mountains of Italy’s Molise region. The Group Residency Programme Air, Sea and Soil takes place in Scotland’s Orkney Islands in partnership with The Pier Arts Centre.
