Quotes on art by artists, writers, critics and art spectators. The Window Art Project wants to show the value of art to a broader public. It started in 2013 with a new quote on art on the window of our studio at Weesperzijde in Amsterdam every two weeks. The Weesperzijde is a busy pedestrian and cycle route to the center of the city. Every day more then 15.000 visitors are passing by, many in a hurry but more and more people notice the quotes. They read, react, smile, frown, reflect make a note or a picture of the quote. And regularly, we find new quotes in our letterbox or email.

Trixie is an artist-run space located in the Stationsbuurt, neighboring the red light district of The Hague, in The Netherlands. Our building consists of an open and dynamic exhibition space with huge windows and shiny mirrors, including fifteen studios, currently hosting seventeen young artists/designers who work towards establishing a firm base for their artistic career. Trixie has an eye for recent graduates and upcoming talent and invites diverse groups of artists to experiment with alternative presentation strategies and expand their practice.

Nieuwe Vide is an exhibition space for contemporary art. Nieuwe Vide also houses artist studios and a project space. We work with young and upcoming artists as well as more experienced artists. The studios are rented by visual artists and creatives. Nieuwe Vide works with these artists and creatives whenever possible. Nieuwe Vide, as such, is a launching pad for upcoming artists’ careers. The project space is used for (educational) workshops and gatherings. True to its squatters roots 20 years ago, Nieuwe Vide is socially engaged and operates on a community level. We offer a weekly soup lunch for artists and neighbourhood residents. Every year we offer an educational art trajectory for kids aged 14-18, called Nieuwe Vide Academy. We also have a film community, CineClub, with a focus on all kinds of film and film-discussion.

P/////AKT is a non-profit exhibition space for contemporary art that organizes and facilitates large scale solo presentations through which the audience gets the opportunity to gain insight in the thinking space of the artists. P/////AKT provides a platform for exceptional, emerging artistic talents, who distinguish themselves through their unique and authentic language and who are capable of giving a different view on the current way of thinking. They are stimulated to work out new developments and are given the opportunity to present their work to a relevant audience. Furthermore, P/////AKT always asks the artists to produce new work that relates to the specific nature and dimensions of the given space and to present their own mental space as an overall presentation within the given context.

…ism is a project space for artists with ideas for future work. It does not show existing work but specifically invites artists to use the space for site-specific projects. …ism project space is located in a former billiards shop and combines a 19th-century retail space with a 17th-century front and rear house, a cellar from 1600 and two courtyards. Halfway through the renovation of the building, the first exhibition started in 2018. Each exhibitor therefore encounters a new situation. Approximately 4/5 projectpresentations are shown every year. The invited artists themselves determine which part of the building they want to use for a presentation. The interaction with the location, and the conquest of the space from its inhabitants is part of the process. In principle, anything is possible as long as the artist can convince the owners / residents to adapt their living conditions during the project. The dialogue between the artist and the public is also addressed in the project space. In addition to public presentations, private meetings or other forms of side-programming can also be organized. The intention of …ism project space is to redefine “exhibiting” as a practice, both for the artist, the project space and for the […]

10dence gallery presents, creates, explores, nurtures and promotes the art that happens when connections are made and knowledge is shared – across the boundaries of the established art-world institutions and their markets. Artist run 10dence gallery currently represents an international selected group of 15 artists in an alternative manner, organizing exhibition projects within the Netherlands and Belgium. 10dence gallery is coordinated and curated by the Dutch multi-disciplinary artist Ron Weijers. His artistic and organizational involvement with 10dence gallery within international operating art communities, networks and art platforms offer an inspiring asset to the art practices of all involved. His collaboration with GAP – Global Art Project as run by founder and curator Carl Heyward would be a highly inspiring example. GAP is an international network of mixed media artists who collaborate, research, develop, inspire, tease, trigger, communicate and exhibit together. One of the most intriguing aspects he became confronted by within his collaboration with GAP would be his involvement within the frag collaboration process. Mixed-media works derived from the exchange between members of GAP, relinquishing responsibility or ownership going beyond the original intention of an image or idea broken down into fragments (frags) resulting in a deconstruction, a re-ordering of […]
