Filipino American Artist Directory is a participatory artist project and independent initiative to connect the broad community of visual artists of Filipino heritage living and working in the United States, beginning from the Midwest and South. It aims to increase the visibility and recognition of Filipino American artists through an online and annual print resource for students, educators, curators, and collectors, as well as organizing events and exhibitions throughout the country.

Arts + Literature Laboratory (ALL) is a community art space for visual, literary and performing artists to share their work and create new connections.

Saas-Fee Summer Institute of Art (SFSIA) is a nomadic, intensive summer academy with shifting programs in contemporary critical theory. SFSIA stresses an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the relationship between art and politics. The program consists of seminar-style lectures, deep readings, and workshops. An evening lecture program is free and open to the public. We encourage all genre of artists, film-makers, poets, philosophers, architects, critical theorists, and curators whose practice could use an invigorating jolt of new theory to consider applying for the program. SFSIA originated in Saas-Fee, Switzerland in 2015 and migrated to Berlin, Germany in 2016 where it is currently hosted by Spike. In 2019, an additional program will be hosted by Performance Space New York. The institute was founded by artist and theorist Warren Neidich. Sarrita Hunn is the artistic coordinator.

Open Wabi, located in an early-1900s furniture factory in rural Ohio, offers emerging and established artists the time, space, and environment to encourage growth and experimentation in their practice. A UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT Open Wabi is located on 20 acres in an historic furniture factory. The environment is a mix of industrial and natural — nestled in a quaint central Ohio town. Artists have large, private studios (16ft x 30ft) and can also utilize wooded areas, pasture, and architectural remnants. A RESIDENCY IS VALUABLE. AT OPEN WABI, IT’S AFFORDABLE, TOO. We provide everything you need for a comfortable and productive residency. And our facilities are designed without unnecessary frills, so we can keep it affordable. Ortega y Gasset Projects (OyG) is a non-profit artist-run curatorial collective and exhibition space in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Founded in May 2013 in Bushwick, Brooklyn,  OyG moved to Gowanus in February 2015. Ortega y Gasset is a non-profit organization run by a group of directors based in New York and other regions throughout the US. All directors are working artists and in addition to writing, curating, installing and doing administrative work to run OyG, their directorship enables them to connect with the community that OyG fosters to support their practices as painters, photographers, sculptors and writers. OyG is entirely run by working artists, and so recognizes that exploration is key to the sustainment of artistic vitality. Thus, we embark on an exploratory model where artists take the role of curator, critic and promoter. Working without specific intentions of commercial profit or an explicit curatorial ideology, the goal of OyG is to mount exhibitions that provoke interpretation and dialogue and bolster artistic community. Gradient Projects is a contemporary art initiative based in Thomas, West Virginia. We are currently developing a project space at 218 East Avenue in order to host exhibitions, artists-in-residence, performances, concerts, films and other art-based experimentation.

Overview:  The Living Gallery Outpost’s mission is to support emerging artists by creating new and exciting opportunities for them to showcase their work.  In line with that goal, we are excited to announce our 2018 Residency Program, which will coincide with The Armory Week.  One artist will be selected to use the gallery as their studio for one week.  The residency will culminate in an exhibition on the opening day of the Armory Show, March 8, 2018 and a panel of art-world professionals who will provide feedback to the artist on their work and their practice. The Living Gallery Outpost opened in August 2017 and has been featured in Paper Magazine and Time Out NY.  The Outpost is a sister gallery to The Living Gallery in Brooklyn, which has been covered in the NY Times, The Village Voice, and USA Today. PLUG PROJECTS (established in 2011) is a curatorial collaboration by four Kansas City artists who share the mission of bringing fresh perspectives and conversation to the local art community. Our goal is to energize artists and the public at large by exhibiting challenging new work, initiating critical dialogue, and expanding connections of artists in Kansas City as part of a wider, national network of artists. The Luminary is a nonprofit independent space founded in St. Louis, MO in 2007 as a forum for artistic research, production and presentation, conceived in response to both our immediate and international community, alongside our audiences, and in dialogue with artists. The Luminary is a constellation of ideas and activities: a physical site that opens onto a larger cultural and conceptual space; exhibitions that move through multiple timelines, spaces and forms; residencies with artists, curators and critics meant to test boundaries and continually push forward their individual and collective practice; and wide-ranging projects that critically engage emerging ideas and stretch the definition of the institution itself. The basis of the organization is experimentation and engagement. Wave Farm is a non-profit arts organization driven by experimentation with broadcast media and the airwaves. Our programs—Transmission Arts, WGXC-FM, and Media Arts Grants—provide access to transmission technologies and support artists and organizations that engage with media as an art form. Transmission Arts Transmission Arts programs support artists who engage the transmission spectrum, on the airwaves and through public events. The Wave Farm Artist Residency Program is an international visiting artist program. The Transmission Arts Archive presents a living genealogy of artists’ experiments with broadcast media and the airwaves. Wave Farm Radio is a continuous online radio feed and site-specific broadcast on 1620-AM. WGXC 90.7-FM Wave Farm’s WGXC 90.7-FM is a creative community radio station based in New York’s Greene and Columbia counties. Hands-on access and participation activate WGXC as a public platform for information, experimentation, and engagement. RAIR’s mission is to build awareness about sustainability issues through art and design by offering participating artists studio spaces and access to more than 450 tons of materials per day in order to foster works of art that challenge perceptions of waste culture.

Founded in 2007, Little Berlin is a cooperative exhibition space run by 11 artist members who curate the space using a collaborative, do-it-yourself ethic. Located in Kensington, Philadelphia, Little Berlin is known for its emphasis on month long curated exhibitions and unique, experimental programming. Members support one another to promote artists and ideas beyond our individual art practices. We are open to project proposals and collaborations with local and international community and arts organizations.   Founded in May 2014 by members of Little Berlin, the Annex is a raw, intimate space for performance, film, music, readings, lectures, and workshops. Like Little Berlin’s adjacent gallery, The Annex holds exhibitions and installations, but they are usually shorter than one month and based around programming events like Poems Night, live performances, and occasionally artists-in-residence. The Annex is also home to Little Berlin’s Zine Library, which is the largest in Philadelphia and houses hundreds of zines, exhibition catalogs, chapbooks, and artist books.
