GlogauAIR GlogauAIR is an art space and residency in a historic building in Kreuzberg open to new ideas and interchange GlogauAIR is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by the artist Chema Alvargonzález with the intention to create a meeting point between artists from all disciplines to work in collaboration, expanding their practice in terms of materials, formats and style. Residency GlogauAIR offers the use of a studio space in a superb location in Berlin. There are 13 studios distributed over 3 floors. Artists from all over the world and in almost any discipline stay at GlogauAIR for three or six months to develop their artistic project. Project Space The project space is the perfect venue for all sorts of events like workshops, classes, trainings, film screening, lectures, photo or film shootings, and exhibitions.   ada is… ein Projekt zur künstlerischen Zwischennutzung, welches ausgehend von den lokalen Gegebenheiten versucht KünstlerInnen zur Auseinandersetzung dieser conditio humana einzuladen, um dahingehend auch die eigene Rolle in der Gesellschaft zu hinterfragen. „Die einzige Konstante – ist die Transformation“ Dazu werden dort regelmäßige Präsentationen von unterschiedlichen Positionen der Gegenwartskunst stattfinden. Der Fokus ist eine breit gefächerte Präsentation (Malerei, Bildhauerei, Performance, Medienkunst etc.) von Kunst im Wechselspiel mit der Örtlichkeit. Ziel ist die Schaffung einer sich prozesshaft transformierenden Ausstellung, mit jeweils in situ entstehender Kunst, die in Symbiose mit dem Raum geschieht. Ein Umgang mit der Umgebung, eine Herausforderung an das Schaffen selbst – Ephemera und das du. Die Ausstellungsreihe zum Thema der Verwandlung und Vergänglichkeit der Identität repräsentiert in den Resten der menschlichen Existenz, ist die Vorgabe der Wandlung, nicht um das alte wieder lebendig zu machen sondern die Kunst als Sonde in die vielfältigen Ebenen der Humankondition zu nützen. Russian American Cultural Center (RACC) aims to provide permanent cultural representation to more than 700,000 Russian-speaking residents of New York. It was founded in 1998 by Dr. Regina Khidekel and earned its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in 1999.

Push/Pull’s mission is to: Promote underground art and comics Foster community between those creating and viewing art Encourage emerging artists, illustrators and cartoonists Innovate the way art is consumed by presenting it in a unique environment and with nontraditional events Stimulate Diversity by actively seeking out marginalized and under-represented artists Underground art is work that challenges the viewer to feel something, to think about something. Operating since November 2004, we are committed to showcasing, developing, and broadening the reach of artists locally and internationally.  

BUREAU of CHANGE is an education-centric lab for real art practice in New Orleans. We create, curate and exhibit socially and politically engaged work. BUREAU of CHANGE was founded by Margot Herster with a group of her former students and recent graduates from Louisiana State University. Originating out of dissatisfaction with higher education, particularly in arts and media, BUREAU developed into a new school in the form of an atelier-style studio.  A diverse group—established artists and designers, paid student apprentices and young artists, scholars and community experts, and the public—interact to create. Our objectives are influenced by the Works Progress Administration’s Federal Art Project implemented during the Great Depression. We harken a a lost but not forgotten era when the government stimulated jobs in the arts by employing artists to create public works and subsidizing community education centers that offered training in arts skills applicable to industrial jobs of the time. Our process commissions artists and non-artists to collaborate on creative works aimed at inciting institutional change while studying social technology, digital media theory, interdisciplinary research and artistic production. Youkobo Art Space manages an Artist-In-Residence Program (AIR) providing accommodation and studio space to artists for a set period of time, and a non-profit studio and gallery for creating and the presentation of new work by Tokyo-based artists, while also promoting community engagement through art and culture. As a ‘studio (‘kobo’) for ‘you’ (‘you’ in Youkobo meaning ‘play’ in Japanese), Youkobo aims to create a space which gives many people the opportunity to experience art and culture on a more familiar level by supporting the autonomous activities of artists. To date, over 300 overseas artists from 40 countries have been welcomed to Youkobo, and exhibitions of over 150 Japan-based artists have been held in what has become a place for rich cultural exchange. Terminal B is the new Barents hub for genre and border crossing art projects. A place where professional artists can share their interests in the High North with art connoisseurs, an engaged local public as well as visitors and tourists to the Arctic. It is a point of departure for an exploration of the Barents borderland in transition and for the discovery of alternative solutions to existing conventions. Terminal B is a gateway into and out from the Barents region, showcasing exceptional home-grown productions.

Greylight Projects is an independent artist run organization based in Brussels (BE) and in Hoensbroek (NL). It has been created in 2009 in Hoensbroek, and a space was opened in Brussels in 2013. Greylight Projects focuses on supporting artists in their researches and practices by facilitating, producing, or organizing events. In Hoensbroek (NL), a suburb of Heerlen in the south of The Netherlands, Greylight Projects offers a place to live and work to selected artists for short, mid or long term residencies. In parallel, every few months an artist is invited for a (site-)specific presentation in the project-space: a large scale display in the storefront and 3 flags poles in front of the former city hall of Hoensbroek, visible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from public space. In Brussels (BE), Greylight Projects is situated in the north part of the town, close to Botanique in the municipality of Sint-Joost-ten-Node. Kotti-Shop: The Kotti-Shop is an experimental non-profit art and project space, which has been located on the ground floor of the Neue Kreuzberger Zentrum, directly at Kottbusser Tor, since 2008. For ten years now, it has been a platform for Berlin-based and international artists to play and experiment. Exhibitions take place regularly in the Kotti-Shop, as well as performances, zine and book launches, experimental readings, concerts and film screenings. Over the years, events series have also become established in the Kotti-Shop, such as the “Sentimental Punk” format, where, every month since 2015, a compilation of films by experimental filmmakers has been shown, reinterpreted by two sound artists through improvisation. In addition to its distinctive events culture, the Kotti-Shop regularly collaborates with other art and cultural institutions and festivals, and makes its premises available for this purpose. In the past, this has included the drawing festival Big Draw (2012/2013), the House of World Cultures (Wir wohnen, wie wir wollen/We decide how we reside, 2015) and the radio project “Kotti.FM” (2016), in which the Kotti-Shop, together with the artist’s radio reboot.FM, Wassertormedien, Wearebornfree and WestGermany continuously broadcast on one frequency for one month. The Butter Factory Arts Centre is located in the Noosa hinterland at Cooroy, in a converted old butter factory that was built in 1930. The butter factory closed in 1975 and was purchased by Noosa Council for use as a community centre in 1991. The Butter Factory Arts Centre provides a friendly and collabortive environment to both new and established artists working in any media.  We welcome exhibition proposals from artists, collectives for group or solo exhibitions in our  gallery spaces.  We are committed to aiding artists in their experimentation and growth, as well as bringing exciting work to the public.  The center creates a sense of community amongst both exhibitors and viewers; a place where the arts are accessible and dynamic.  The Butter Factory Arts Centre is staffed and assisted by Cooroy Future Group volunteers.  

ACOSS (Art Center of Social Studies) artist-in-residence program, established in 2006, needs more space to continue to develop its international artistic network and an alternative art school for the community. ACOSS serves as a platform for national and international artists interested in a studio exchange to practice their art and become immersed in our collaborative community art-related initiatives, which highlight the concept of creativity without borders towards social change. The aim of ACOSS is to support the development of contemporary creativity and to assist local Armenian and international artists and scholars to organize exhibitions, conferences, research projects, seminars, and workshops concerning local art and current political and social situations. Casa Tres Patios (C3P) is a contemporary art center that is dedicated to research, pedagogy and contemporary artistic practices. C3P works with local, national and international artists, critics, curators, academics and others from diverse backgrounds whose work explores new practices in a collaborative experimental atmosphere to develop projects that can inspire and create positive change.

betOnest, a new artist residency space located in Stolpe/Oder in east Brandenburg is a former cement factory that spans approximately 45,000 square meters. It is a work and research space for interdisciplinary artists and a cultural center that aims to provide both for the immediate community that resides in the area as well as the international community of artists and makers in Berlin and abroad. This residency is affiliated with Ponderosa e.v., a dance space in Stolzenhagen that has been hosting festivals, residencies, workshops and training programs for the past 15 years. ​betOnest is rural, raw and epic. Errant Bodies opened its project space in 2010 in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, and since 2016 it operates under the title Errant Sound. Since that time is has been dedicated to experimental work in sound, including performance, fieldwork, voice, radio and spatial practices. Through residencies, workshops, events, and exhibitions, Errant Sound emphasizes an engagement with process and dialogue, encouraging a dynamic and diverse approach to the sound arts. As a project space, it also intends to foster social and public activities, contributing to the creative scene in Berlin and its artistic communities. Starting in 2013, the project space is managed and developed through a working group comprised of artists, researchers, curators, and writers focusing on sonic research and sound practices. The working group develops initiatives and an experimental program of presentations, events, and exhibitions. Cairns area is an exciting region for printmaking in Australia. InkMasters, established in 2011, has been instrumental in making this happen. InkMasters has a full programme of events throughout the year. It includes international, national and local exhibitions which promote the work and careers of regional artists, as well as skills-development workshops and community engagement activities. The now famous InkFest, a biennial festival of printmaking, will be held next in 2018, its fourth production with around 30 activities. The standout event of InkFest is the InkMasters Print Exhibition of original prints from international, national and regional artists. It is held at the Tanks Arts Centre, one of the most celebrated venues in Northern Australia, situated beside the tropical Flecker Botanic Gardens. InkMasters has a state-of the-art printmaking facility at 55 Greenslopes Street, Cairns. #55 Art Space and the printmaking studio InkMasters Print Workshop (IPW) provide professional development opportunities and an access working studio for artists from entry level to professional. We offer access to other arts organizations and individuals and host Artists in Residence. Our objective is to create an accessible Arts Space which will advance the careers of artists at all levels and in all forms, as well as to engage the wider community in the transformative experience of art-making.

Alfred Cooperative Institute for Art & Culture is an alternative art space – home to an active and vibrant artist community aimed at introducing contemporary Israeli art and its young creators to art lovers in the local community. The Alfred Institute is the successor of Alfred Gallery, a pioneer in the sphere of cooperative artistic ventures, who’s work became a model for numerous cooperative art galleries in Israel. After 8 years of successful work in south Tel-Aviv, Alfred Institute was establish one year ago, as a space devoted entirely to promoting and supporting young Israeli art.
