Modern Clay is a studio project run by Mark Essen it provides a studio facility for the production of ceramics. It is accessible for artists and encouraged that the studio is available to be used by local community groups, artist educational projects and charitable groups. The studio is a resource for artists to produce their own work while developing a new programme of artistic opportunities for West Midlands artists. ART RESIDENCY & EDUCATION FOR ARTISTS Snehta is a non-for-profit organisation that promotes and facilitates local and international artists through its residency, exhibitions and educational programmes in Kypseli, Athens. For the residency artists are selected through an open call who then spend two months researching in Athens under the guidance of the residency team and an established Athens based curator. Snehta also organizes a series of exhibitions and talks in response to topics that critically engage with Athens’ unique identity as a historical and social center. Alongside its art residency Snehta offers burgeoning educational programmes offering professional mentoring and technical knowledge to emerging artists who want to excel in their artistic practice. The programme is staffed by established Athens based artists with a strong and living artistic practice. ​ SNEHTA – ATHENS IN REVERSE Snehta stands for the name of the City of Athens written in reverse. This name metaphorically suggests that the artists involved are to rediscover Athens by reading and translating it alternatively, observing and using the City’s local, social and cultural dynamics.   During the year Voltage is a studio space for artists from different disciplines (Painting/ Street Art/ Photography/ Music). With external curators we organize group exhibitions, artists talks and workshops. Being inspired by different subcultures we still believe in D.I.Y. We have also a press for publishing unique selfmade artist books.  

GlogauAIR GlogauAIR is an art space and residency in a historic building in Kreuzberg open to new ideas and interchange GlogauAIR is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by the artist Chema Alvargonzález with the intention to create a meeting point between artists from all disciplines to work in collaboration, expanding their practice in terms of materials, formats and style. Residency GlogauAIR offers the use of a studio space in a superb location in Berlin. There are 13 studios distributed over 3 floors. Artists from all over the world and in almost any discipline stay at GlogauAIR for three or six months to develop their artistic project. Project Space The project space is the perfect venue for all sorts of events like workshops, classes, trainings, film screening, lectures, photo or film shootings, and exhibitions.   ada is… ein Projekt zur künstlerischen Zwischennutzung, welches ausgehend von den lokalen Gegebenheiten versucht KünstlerInnen zur Auseinandersetzung dieser conditio humana einzuladen, um dahingehend auch die eigene Rolle in der Gesellschaft zu hinterfragen. „Die einzige Konstante – ist die Transformation“ Dazu werden dort regelmäßige Präsentationen von unterschiedlichen Positionen der Gegenwartskunst stattfinden. Der Fokus ist eine breit gefächerte Präsentation (Malerei, Bildhauerei, Performance, Medienkunst etc.) von Kunst im Wechselspiel mit der Örtlichkeit. Ziel ist die Schaffung einer sich prozesshaft transformierenden Ausstellung, mit jeweils in situ entstehender Kunst, die in Symbiose mit dem Raum geschieht. Ein Umgang mit der Umgebung, eine Herausforderung an das Schaffen selbst – Ephemera und das du.   GAP Is a membership based international collaborative of Mixed-media Artists whose active participants number 53 members working in 12 countries, depending on the project. Having roots initially in web based activity beginning in 2012 (post card and correspondence art projects such as KNEE(jerk) Fragmentation Project). GLOBAL ART PROJECT has generated numerous workshops, exhibitions and collaborative studio experiences in Venice, Lecce and Treviso Italy, Mazatlan, Mexico, Dakar, Senegal, Ghent, Belgium, The Netherlands, North Carolina, New York, Minneapolis, MN, San Francisco, Mill Valley, Benicia, Sausalito and Novato, California. Current Space is an artist-run gallery, studio, and a headquarters for cultural production, nourishing an ongoing dialogue between artists, activists, performers, designers, curators, and thinkers. Operating since November 2004, we are committed to showcasing, developing, and broadening the reach of artists locally and internationally.  

BUREAU of CHANGE is an education-centric lab for real art practice in New Orleans. We create, curate and exhibit socially and politically engaged work. BUREAU of CHANGE was founded by Margot Herster with a group of her former students and recent graduates from Louisiana State University. Originating out of dissatisfaction with higher education, particularly in arts and media, BUREAU developed into a new school in the form of an atelier-style studio.  A diverse group—established artists and designers, paid student apprentices and young artists, scholars and community experts, and the public—interact to create. Our objectives are influenced by the Works Progress Administration’s Federal Art Project implemented during the Great Depression. We harken a a lost but not forgotten era when the government stimulated jobs in the arts by employing artists to create public works and subsidizing community education centers that offered training in arts skills applicable to industrial jobs of the time. Our process commissions artists and non-artists to collaborate on creative works aimed at inciting institutional change while studying social technology, digital media theory, interdisciplinary research and artistic production. Youkobo Art Space manages an Artist-In-Residence Program (AIR) providing accommodation and studio space to artists for a set period of time, and a non-profit studio and gallery for creating and the presentation of new work by Tokyo-based artists, while also promoting community engagement through art and culture. As a ‘studio (‘kobo’) for ‘you’ (‘you’ in Youkobo meaning ‘play’ in Japanese), Youkobo aims to create a space which gives many people the opportunity to experience art and culture on a more familiar level by supporting the autonomous activities of artists. To date, over 300 overseas artists from 40 countries have been welcomed to Youkobo, and exhibitions of over 150 Japan-based artists have been held in what has become a place for rich cultural exchange. Two Queens is an artist-run gallery and studios situated in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. With the ambition of providing a centre for experimental modes of arts production, exhibition and exchange, Two Queens is dedicated to establishing an agenda for new activity in the city and across the region. We want to invest our energies into collaborations with new institutions and individuals from outside of Leicester whilst also assisting in the development of artists working within the city. Two Queens was established in 2011 by recent graduates from De Montfort and Loughborough Universities, and has been programming regular exhibitions and events since March 2012.

Greylight Projects is an independent artist run organization based in Brussels (BE) and in Hoensbroek (NL). It has been created in 2009 in Hoensbroek, and a space was opened in Brussels in 2013. Greylight Projects focuses on supporting artists in their researches and practices by facilitating, producing, or organizing events. In Hoensbroek (NL), a suburb of Heerlen in the south of The Netherlands, Greylight Projects offers a place to live and work to selected artists for short, mid or long term residencies. In parallel, every few months an artist is invited for a (site-)specific presentation in the project-space: a large scale display in the storefront and 3 flags poles in front of the former city hall of Hoensbroek, visible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from public space.   Mothership NYC is a combined live-work space and presentation arena for international artists across multiple disciplines in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC. Our mission is to support and promote artists at all career levels through residencies, public shows and collaborative opportunities; build sustainable transnational artist networks; and help retain creative forces in New York City.  

ACOSS (Art Center of Social Studies) artist-in-residence program, established in 2006, needs more space to continue to develop its international artistic network and an alternative art school for the community. ACOSS serves as a platform for national and international artists interested in a studio exchange to practice their art and become immersed in our collaborative community art-related initiatives, which highlight the concept of creativity without borders towards social change.   The Institut für Alles Mögliche is an artistic project that, by using experimental means, sets about questioning, scrutinising and probing the institutionalisation and presentation of contemporary art. To this end project spaces are opened, events developed and various artistic practices tried out. These, mostly playful experiments deal with interrogations of the ‘art space’, the operatings of the ‘project space’ and ‘exhibiting’ often in an ironic manner. The central concept is to develop spaces of possibility in which exchange and experiences can take place and space for artistic activity can come in to being. The project can be understood as an organism, as an artistic attempt to find niches and to implant a non-commercial program into the commercial structure of the municipal sphere. It is intended to formulate a notion, a proposal, an approach on how artistic collaborations, collective learning and cohabitation can be constructed. The project tries to create an alternative, which opposes the economic utilisation of art, the artistic pressure to produce and increasing standardisation. Galleria Jänis is an artist run non-profit gallery in Turku, Finland. We are located in Jarrumiehenkatu 3, very close to the railway station. Galleria Jänis opens up straight to the street which makes our exhibitions available 24/7. betOnest, a new artist residency space located in Stolpe/Oder in east Brandenburg is a former cement factory that spans approximately 45,000 square meters. It is a work and research space for interdisciplinary artists and a cultural center that aims to provide both for the immediate community that resides in the area as well as the international community of artists and makers in Berlin and abroad. This residency is affiliated with Ponderosa e.v., a dance space in Stolzenhagen that has been hosting festivals, residencies, workshops and training programs for the past 15 years. ​betOnest is rural, raw and epic. Galleria Huuto is an artist run organization in Helsinki, Finland, active since 2002. It has more than 100 members and runs four gallery spaces in Jätkäsaari near the Western Harbour. Annually over 50 contemporary exhibitions are organized in Huuto´s premises. Huuto functions as a platform for solo and group exhibitions covering the broad range of styles and media of contemporary art, as well as space for international collaboration, non-commercial art, screenings, performance events as well as other artistic statements. Huuto is managed by a board and an executive director. Selection committee for exhibitions suggested for the gallery spaces is chosen from Huuto member artists and is changed every half a year.
