We promote a broad, integrative understanding of knowledge, and focus on matters surrounding the production and mediation of knowledge with a focus on self-organized practices and knowledge decentralization. Located at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), the content and position of SoC is defined by our community rather than a predetermined program; research is conducted in our three labs (LEARN, MAPP, and READ), all of which are run as peer-based collaborative endeavours with annually changing members. Our labs bring together a wide range of participants, guests, and contributors who share their curiosity, skills, and visions. The Lacuna Festivals are an annual International Contemporary Art Festival delivered in the Canary Islands, Spain. Over the last three years our festival has grown in popularity and now runs for a whole month during the summer. In 2020 the festivals exhibited 653 artworks, from 210 artists, coming from 53 countries around the world and held 45 live events. There was no fee for artists to partake or exhibit and all of our exhibitions and events were completely free to view or participate in, encouraging the public to engage in Contemporary Art from around the world. We aim to continue to grow our reach around the world and continue to bring international artists together. The Lacuna Festivals aim to: Promote quality, contemporary (and sometimes challenging) art to communities isolated from mainland Europe which, therefore have limited access to Arts & Culture. Offer something local/translocal for both resident and visiting artists through stimulating local creatives and the local culture. To enlarge creative networks and provide a point of contact for the exchange of knowledge, the sharing of ideas and the blossoming of creativity. Develop new ways to exhibit, curate and organise large scale arts events through the use of crowdsourcing for […]

Ort Gallery is on a social mission to redefine contemporary visual arts by rejecting the sector’s exclusivity, centring access and equity, and by providing inclusive high quality art experiences. We support this mission with a care-centred approach and give artists, team members, and participants autonomy over their projects. We believe everyone should have access to high quality art experiences and aim to provide that standard by providing exhibition and professional development opportunities to artists, creatives, and community members. We are particularly focused on investing in and engaging with community members of the Balsall Heath area that are often overlooked. We use our space to provide our community with art focused events, activities and volunteering opportunities. We believe that art holds transformative power for mental wellbeing, bridging gaps between communities. We believe that you are never too young, too old or too different to learn a new skill or engage with art. We place Warmth at the heart of all our work. We recognise that galleries are sites of oppression which centre and reproduce white normative and elitist ways of ‘being’ under the supposed guise of neutrality. We are interested in challenging this head on; whilst also committing to creating space for local artists and marginalised community […]

Onassis AiR, is an (inter)national artistic research residency program that was established by the Onassis Foundation in September 2019, in Athens, Greece. Founded on the principles of learning and doing with others, Onassis AiR grounds its mission in supporting the artistic process by offering space and time to arts professionals from various backgrounds and disciplines to delve deeper into their practice without any requirement to present a final work. Since we opened our doors in September 2019, we have experimented with various formats of thinking and practising together -from individual research programs to fostering a thematic collective research study– always adapting our programs based on the needs of a growing community of peers. ABOUT THE RABBIT HOLE: Established in 2008 in New York, the rabbit hole numbers 5000+ individually hand-picked members from 56 + countries. The membership is by invitation only. The essence of the rabbit hole is rooted in deconstruction and the reinventions of discourses. By seeking to stimulate new ideas about the self and the other, and to challenge culturally constructed limits and borders, the rabbit hole’s programs are designed to explore new paradigms and collective experiences for the sublime to emerge. At the foundation of the rabbit hole’s global projects is the power of the collective, what the group calls magical consciousness, and like the birds in the Persian Sufi fable by Fariduddin Attar “ The Conference of the Birds” who discover their own interweaving wonderland, the rabbit hole becomes a space for inquiry, wonder and magical realism. Founded in 2012, the Art Byte Critique group is focused on creating a network of working artists interested in constructive dialogues about studio work and the discovery of new ideas and inspirations. The Art Byte Critique group originally started out on the Meetup.com website. More than one year later, this collective of artists continues monthly discussions about studio work, gallery and museum visits, sharing of artist resources and supporting each other’s creative efforts through this website. Artists spend most of their time alone in the studio in dialogue with their work. We are continually developing ideas and creating works on their own. Despite all the ideas and images that inspire our creativity, sometimes it feels like something is lacking. The Art Byte Critique group seeks to fill that gap by providing a place for working artists to have an exchange of ideas with other artists. If you are interested in learning more about the Art Byte Critique Group, please send an e-mail to [email protected] 制作は孤独な作業です。 [email protected]

10dence gallery presents, creates, explores, nurtures and promotes the art that happens when connections are made and knowledge is shared – across the boundaries of the established art-world institutions and their markets. Artist run 10dence gallery currently represents an international selected group of 15 artists in an alternative manner, organizing exhibition projects within the Netherlands and Belgium. 10dence gallery is coordinated and curated by the Dutch multi-disciplinary artist Ron Weijers. His artistic and organizational involvement with 10dence gallery within international operating art communities, networks and art platforms offer an inspiring asset to the art practices of all involved. His collaboration with GAP – Global Art Project as run by founder and curator Carl Heyward would be a highly inspiring example. GAP is an international network of mixed media artists who collaborate, research, develop, inspire, tease, trigger, communicate and exhibit together. One of the most intriguing aspects he became confronted by within his collaboration with GAP would be his involvement within the frag collaboration process. Mixed-media works derived from the exchange between members of GAP, relinquishing responsibility or ownership going beyond the original intention of an image or idea broken down into fragments (frags) resulting in a deconstruction, a re-ordering of […]
