Open call for Artist in Residence Program in Berlin 2019-2020 coGalleries is pleased to announce the open call for Artist in Residence Program Berlin for 2019-2020. As a contemporary art gallery with a beautiful space in the center of town, we are interested in production-oriented artists and diverse cultural agents like writers, researchers, curators and others interested in creative projects, research and collaboration within the contemporary arts. All residents and collaborators will get the chance to exhibit in one of our group- and/or solo exhibitions in our gallery in the city center (Mitte). How to Apply: Please apply by filling out the application form. Make sure to include a CV, as well as a minimum of 3 jpg images showing your artistic process and exhibition documentation. Granted your selection, these images might be used on our social media channels, e-mail campaigns, print invitations, websites and catalogues. File names should include exactly in this order your first and last name, the title of the work, the year and the photo credits. Applicants with own residencies and organizations that are looking for collaborators, please also apply or contact us via email. There are two residency opportunities: a studio only residency or a more extensive master residency with coaching, portfolio work and further. Studio residencies will be able to present the works in a studio opening. Master residents will have the chance to participate in one of our group and/or solo exhibitions at our gallery in the city center of Berlin. How to Apply: We accept applications on a rolling basis. OPEN CALL DEADLINE: January 20, 2020 the rabbit hole collective presents “the art of remembering” ; in its first global residency program in collaboration with Fondazione Morra, Naples. 7 applicants will be selected to spend 14 days at the artist residence of Fondazione Morra and Museum Hermann Nitsch, in the heart of Naples, exploring “the art of remembering.” We are particularly interested in those applicants with a keen interest in voyaging, journeys, ports and waterways; as well as in ancient symbols, scripts and codes through mediums such as poetry, theatre, sound, mathematics and performance to apply. Artists will have the chance to explore the subject on their own, in a contemplative and inspiring environment, as well as collaborate and celebrate a meeting of the minds. As part of the program, artists will get to know Naples’ creative scenes – curated by Fondazione Morra, encounter some of the city’s personalities, and immerse in the waves of the city and the surrounding seas. We offer a month-long residency free of charge to one talented international artist or curator. Selected by a committee of peers, the award winner will spend their time on board Mothership NYC in Brooklyn developing a creative project for presentation to the NYC audience under the aegis of NOoSPHERE Arts, an artist-led nonprofit organization.

Deadline for application 15.12.19 KuBa: kulturbahnhof, Klein Warnow – A place of motion and emotion a particular program for inspiration, dialogue & cooperation, open to the challenges of our time. KuBa: kulturbahnhof is located on the site of a former train station in the town of Klein Warnow (Brandenburg), on the Berlin-Hamburg railrway. The residency program offers artists, writers and cultural scientists a place to work, create and experiment. The interaction with this unique location is an essential element of the project. The artistic directors of KuBa: kulturbahnhof are Sharon Horodi and Cheb Mika Kammerer. The two are artists, active in the field of video, photography, performance-art and creative writing. Both have many years of experience in curating exhibitions and artistic events, community based art projects and transcultural exchange programs. Vision: Vision: A train station is a space comprised of motion and of emotions, arrivals and farewells, a place of joy and longing. Like art, the station forms the thin line between the private and public spheres. Join us for a 3 or 6 months art residency in the heart of Berlin!Centered on the principles of explore, create, and exhibit, the residency program offers the use of a studio space in a historic building in Berlin and a base in Kreuzberg from which to explore and discover the creative side of the city.
Artists of all disciplines creating in any media are welcome to apply: dance, theatre, music, sound, performance art, writing, painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, culinary, photography, video/film, animation, architecture, sculpture (any material), ceramics, mixed-media / multi-media, interdisciplinary, installation, and other new/alternative media. Researchers, curators, and art critics are also welcome to apply. Open to emerging and established artists.
