Artist-run space 127 garage (Kharkiv, Ukraine) is looking for partners in Europe and is ready to invite them to come to us to get acquainted with the context.
Please help us spread the word – maybe you know some organization that will be interested.

127 garage is an artist-run space located in Kharkiv (founded in 2019). Since 127 garage is a self-organized art space, we understand the importance of horizontal connections.

We want to invite the representative of European artist-run space to Kharkiv for from 7 to 10 days residency in summer 2021. The aim of the residency is to establish partnerships with artist-run spaces from Europe to create a community, exchange knowledge and start further cooperation. We can provide resident`s travel, apartment, and per diem.

During the time spent with 127 garage they will be able:

to research the cultural life of Kharkiv and the art community in the city

to learn about 127 garage`s work

to join the work of 127 garage by organizing a public event

to work on the further joint projects with 127 garage

The purpose of the residence is to create a network of partner spaces in Ukraine and Europe. Therefore, we expect that the residency in Kharkiv will be the first one of two exchange residencies and representatives of 127 garage will be able to visit partner organization later.

Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second-largest city that boasts strong architecture and design schools. Unfortunately, there are only 3 contemporary art institutions here, which makes 127 garage`s work very important for the community. The residency is located in 127 garage in the middle of a residential complex, away from the city center.
