The ‘Post Box’ long term exhibition project creates international visibility and interaction between artists during the traveling restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Artworks sent to the postbox of the Hypercube Space will be exhibited in a 105cm (W) x 170cm (H) x 33cm (D) public display window located next to the postbox itself.
By hacking this advertisement display window, this idea engages with the art audience in the heart of central Lisbon, now home to a growing international community who have chosen the city as their home. This is in keeping with Hypercube’s manifesto to expand the notion of the artspace.
Every month another international artist’s work will be selected and presented for a 4 week period as part of a rolling open call for submissions.
The Theme – “Connections”:
The main theme of the Post box exhibition series is “connections”. The media and concept of the exhibition are open. Please pick the work that represents your practice best. Submitted work is required to be in an appropriate format for the display window such as fine-art print, photograph, painting, mixed media, intervention, and installation. Please ensure the work can be easily posted (e.g. foldable, rolled, boxed, etc.) Expensive shipment is not encouraged. Let’s get connected!

- Short biography (200 words max)
- Proposal for the work (500 words max) which explains the concept and installing requirements for the work.
- 1-3 images of the proposed work. (The maximum size of work idea is 105cm (W) x 170cm (H))
- Online portfolio (link/ website)
- Please merge all into a single pdf file (max 5 MB).
Selected work will be presented for 4 weeks.
Artists/makers/thinkers will be responsible for the shipment/return of the work.
