Marija Brasnic explores the concept of calmness through a layered art process in the solo exhibition ‘With Care’ hosted by Studio Baustelle. A series of mixed media art objects created from 2021 to 2023 are exhibited. The primary material is the reflective surface of a mirror used as a base for acrylic paint.
The idea of painting on mirrors started with the intention of giving another dimension to the work while keeping the same painting process on a two-dimensional surface. A mirror is a fragile material that needs to be treated with care. That has influenced the artist’s expression to slow down her process, making it more attentive and meditative.
The visitors are invited to merge with the reflective objects to slow down and possibly reflect on their experience.
