Charlotte, NC ‒ Charlotte New Music announces the return of Your Neighborhood Orchestra with high-quality and visually engaging virtual performances. The performances are the product of diverse and inclusive collaborations between local composers, songwriters, and choreographers from many different genres. www.charlottenewmusic.org/yno

“Your Neighborhood Orchestra will explore and interpret the original local sounds of Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, Latin, Soul, Bollywood, and more,” says Elizabeth Kowalski, composer & Executive Artistic Director. “It will be a snapshot of the original music landscape in the Charlotte area. In collaboration with the dance community, we look forward to sharing a meaningful experience with our audiences – crafted with resilience, passion, realness, love, and unity.”

YNO serves as a bridge for the music community and its audiences, providing access and breaking barriers across the diverse landscape of musical artistry in our area.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, performances will take place as a livestream series, freely accessible by everyone online. Each livestream includes YNO performances featuring two artists and behind-the-scenes footage.

In a continued effort to support the local Charlotte community, funds raised through our virtual tip jar will be donated to Greater Charlotte Rise. GCR has been doing much-needed work to help people without a place to live in Mecklenburg County and Tent City.

Music Artists: Mercury Carter (jazz/soul), Quisol (Latin Pop/reggaeton), A LightDivided (pop metal), Lisa De Novo (pop), Todd Johnson (Americana), Yung Citizen (hip hop), Pete Lents (rock), Arghya Bhattacharya & Amrita Biswas (Bollywood), Cyanca (R&B/hip hop), Von Hunter (Alt Rock).
