Gunk is free, Gunk is unrestricted. Our aim is to create dialectics between the collective and community through organising events, fairs, happenings and screenings. Our community is built from our excitement to foster expression and new ways of thinking. We invite artists of all disciplines to share in inclusive creative experiences that also provide powerful motivational energy, to create, to be yourself and to be reborn.

Gunk’s first creative collaboration was initiated in a repurposed derelict space, that was condemned to be destroyed. We worked alongside our sponsor Snailfish Independent Bookstore, local artists and active community members in transforming the space. The public exhibition titled ’57 Art Fair’ hosted: Snailfish’s curated selection of Books, as well as works from artists spanning Paintings, Drawings, Sculpture and Photographic prints. This exhibition set the foundation for Gunk as an active Artist Alliance.
